Opportunities People’s Justice Leaders
Opportunities Peoples Justice Leaders, a fiscally sponsored 501c3 non-profit organization located in Ohio, was founded as Ohio Prisoners Justice League. This grassroots organization has grown from 15 people to over 1,000 dedicated and caring individuals who are passionate about the treatment of our society’s incarcerated population. We have formed to ensure incarcerated and detained individuals are treated with dignity and respect, and have their basic human needs met with compassion during their period of incarceration and beyond.
URGE envisions a liberated world where we can live with justice, love freely, express our gender and sexuality, and define and create families of our choosing. To achieve our vision of liberation, URGE builds power and sustains a young people’s movement for reproductive justice by centering the leadership of young people of color who are women, queer, trans, nonbinary, and people of low income.
